About CHELPIPE
CHELPIPE is a Russian steel industry group and one of the nation's largest pipe manufacturers with an aggregate market share of
around 20% (Russian Pipe Market).
CHELPIPE Group unites steel and iron plants and companies: Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant, Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant, a chain of
warehouses selling tubulars in the regions, META scrap metal collection and processing company; transmission pipeline equipment
companies COT, ETERNO, MSA (Czech Republic); and an oil service division represented by Rimera.
CHELPIPE has capacities for producing welded and seamless pipes of the widest size range and an extensive network of warehouses.
The group is an effective and versatile player in the tubular goods market of Russia and CIS nations and specializes in producing tubular
goods for all major sectors of the economy: oil and gas, energy, mechanical engineering, and construction industries, agriculture,
chemical industry, healthcare, and others.
Over 70% existing pipelines in Russia and CIS nations were built using pipes made by CHELPIPE.
CHELPIPE’s predecessor was a state-owned enterprise established in 1942 using the equipment and facilities evacuated from the
former Mariupol Pipe Plant and relocated to Chelyabinsk. The plant commenced production of welded gas and water pipes in 1949 and
from 1956 until 1970 was the world’s largest pipe plant, producing approximately 3.3 to 3.5 million tons of pipe per annum and its
organization consists of 25,000 employees.
CHELPIPE is an open joint stock company organized under the laws of the Russian Federation and was incorporated on 21st of October
1992. On 19th of July 2002, it was included in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities.
CHELPIPE has published its consolidated IFRS financial results for the year ended 31st of December 2015 with a Total Annual
Revenue of 148,367 Million RUB (estimated conversion at 2.27 Billion USD) and also publish the value of its Total Assets of
136,960 Million RUB (estimated conversion at 2.098 Billion USD).
